Studio Days is booked as a complete four-week series. The fee includes all four sessions and the materials needed for our explorations.

I’m opening the doors to my home studio in Ellenbrook for something a little different this November.

Studio Days is a relaxed, small-group painting experience for beginners through to intermediate creatives who would love to learn, experiment and feel more confident in their painting.

Across four Friday mornings, we’ll gather around the studio table to explore colour, brushwork, light and shadow, composition and the many little decisions that help a painting come together.

Rather than following a set project or feeling the pressure to finish a painting each week, we’ll work through practical exercises, experiment with paint on different surfaces, and explore the questions that come up in your own creative practice.

With just four places available, there will be plenty of room to ask questions, try things out, share ideas and receive personal guidance in a welcoming, supportive environment.

There’s no pressure to get everything right, and no expectation to create a finished painting each week. This is about giving yourself time to learn, experiment and enjoy the process of becoming a more confident painter.

Building a painting in layers
Troubleshooting when a painting isn’t quite working
Practical exercises and experimentation on different surfaces

Flora in Focus: The Studio Experience

A weekend BOTANICAL workshop

Come and spend two days in my creative sanctuary.

My studio is my favourite place to paint — surrounded by flowers, paintings, colour and all the little things that inspire me.

For this special workshop, I’m opening the doors and inviting just four people to come and share this space with me.

We’ll paint, chat, enjoy good food and flowers, and spend time really enjoying the creative process together.

A little more time to paint. A little more time to notice.

Over two days, we’ll work together on a 30 × 40 cm botanical painting, exploring composition, colour, layering, light and botanical detail.

I’ll demonstrate my process and work closely with you throughout the painting, giving you plenty of individual guidance along the way.

Because we have two days, there’s no need to rush. We can leave our paintings overnight and return the following morning with fresh eyes, ready to refine and finish them.

All painting materials, morning tea and a light lunch are included.

No previous experience is required — just come ready to paint and enjoy being creative.

Discover the beauty of the Australian rose mallee and learn to capture its delicate flowers and distinctive form in acrylic.

In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, Hayley will guide you through her approach to working with colour, light, shape and detail to create a vibrant botanical painting. You’ll learn to slow down, really look at your subject and bring your own interpretation to the canvas.

Suitable for all skill levels. From beginners to seasoned artists, everyone is welcome.
