A lIttle bit About me
Hayley Krüger is an accomplished acrylic painter with a decade of experience, originally from South Africa with a background in graphic design. Now based in the Swan Valley of Western Australia, she creates from her home studio, drawing inspiration from the architectural beauty and quiet resilience of native Australian plants.
Her vibrant botanical paintings are complemented by still life studies of local fruit, vegetables, and birds—reflecting a growing exploration into the connection between nature, nourishment, and the healing of both body and soul. These works are a celebration of simple, everyday beauty and a reminder to slow down and savour life.
Currently navigating her breast cancer journey, Hayley’s creative process has become a lifeline—offering focus, comfort, and a sense of hope in the midst of uncertainty. Each painting is an expression of resilience and gratitude, capturing moments of joy and light even in difficult seasons.
Her work has received national recognition, including the City of Swan Award (Ellenbrook Art Awards 2024), the Petite Collection National Prize (2023), and finalist placements in Bluethumb Art Prize, Petite Pieces, and Foot Square at Aspire Gallery. Hayley’s art is held in private and corporate collections both in Australia and internationally.
Through her workshops and community engagement, she continues to share the joy of creativity with others—believing that art connects us not only to nature, but also to ourselves and one another.

City of Swan Award
This is awarded to an artist who lives in the City of Swan, or an artwork that depicts an aspect of living in the City of Swan.
This artist has displayed a tremendous amount of development in her style in recent years, and that is to be commended.
The judges see a confident yet sensitive approach to the medium and subject matter, and they appreciate that it is a small artwork painted to scale, rather than an overblown, scaled-up version.
The winner is an Ellenbrook artist,
Hayley Kruger for My Darling Clementine.
