There are few sights more uplifting than wattle in bloom.

I love the way Queensland Silver Wattle catches your eye almost before you realise you’re looking. From a distance, it’s a glorious wash of golden yellow; look closer and those familiar little pom-pom flowers are made up of hundreds of delicate filaments, glowing against cool, sculptural silver-green foliage.

It was that contrast that stopped me — the softness and luminosity of the flowers against those beautiful, sturdy leaves.

Sunny Treasures is my celebration of that moment of noticing: a little burst of Australian sunshine captured to enjoy long after the wattle has finished flowering.
